Job Title: Compliance Officer
Overview: Develops, administers and monitors programs for compliance with laws, regulations and rules governing operations and product offerings. Reviews Bank’s policy and procedures for compliance.
Responsibilities: • Develop and write new policies and procedures as needed
• Review and update policies and procedures annually
• Conduct risk assessments of new and existing products
• Review and update risk assessments annually
• Assure all employees are kept up to date on policies and procedures
• Work with Training and Development Specialist on employee training needs
• Help develop agenda and topics for all-employee training day
• Oversee BSA/AML function of the bank and collaborate and lead the BSA Officer
• Take phone calls and emails from employees on a daily basis and do research to help resolve their questions
• Work with all areas of the bank (Management, Operations, Tellers, Lenders, Processors) to make sure the bank is in compliance with all banking regulations
• Direct and coordinate compliance of the Loan Department of the bank
• Direct and coordinate compliance of the Deposit Functions of the bank
• Coordinate FDIC and State of Minnesota Compliance and BSA examinations
• Coordinate Compliance Committee meetings on a quarterly basis
• Attend various meetings related to the compliance function of the bank
• Serve as bank Administrator of the following areas: Equifax, E-Oscar, Laser Pro, Chex Systems, NMLS National Registry (SAFE Act), HMDA reporting, BSA/AML function, Simplicity (CSi)
• Coordinate all aspects of HMDA data collection
• Serve as the point of contact for consumer complaints
• Compile an annual report to the Board of Directors that covers areas of the bank’s compliance program
• This position may require travel throughout our branch network in Minnesota. You may travel 1-3 days per month by car
• A hybrid work arrangement is possible with this position
Requirements: • Must have at least three years of professional experience in a compliance role in a financial institution
• 2 year degree, compliance certificate/training, or equivalent experience.
• Have a thorough knowledge of all banking regulations related to consumer, commercial and agricultural lending
• Have a thorough knowledge of all banking regulations related to consumer and commercial deposit accounts
• This role requires excellent communication skills and reliability is a must
• Must be a self-starter, a fast learner, and possess an attention to detail
• Successful candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Windows-based systems
