Financial Analyst

Overview:
The Financial Analyst is responsible for maintaining and developing reliable financial and accounting information as a basis for management planning and analysis. The Financial Analyst IV must demonstrate knowledge of accounting rules, banking regulations, and financial service operations to understand and monitor the risks associated with the Bank’s business and support functions. This position will develop metrics to track and evaluate performance of programs, services and initiatives. The Financial Analyst will provide leadership to strategize, plan and execute a variety of efforts, services and initiatives focused on the efficiency and effectiveness of the various departments within the Bank. This position will work closely with various business units throughout the Bank to ensure accurate financial reporting. This position will analyze, interpret and support implementing complex financial and accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning and control. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for accurate and timely internal and corporate financial reporting. Evaluating operating results in terms of profitability and performance to budget and provide information to guide business decisions. The Financial Analyst will work with management to evaluate, establish, and monitor financial budgets and forecasts. Establish and maintain metrics and scorecards to be measure the Bank’s financial performance.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Chief Financial Officer and Controller with all areas of the Finance & Accounting Department. With minimal supervisory review, responsible for moderately complex financial analyses and reports for departmental management. Ensure that the Finance & Accounting Department’s daily work is completed in a timely and accurate manner. Provide backups for all functions of the Finance & Accounting Department. Analyses of revenue, margin (channel, customer, product), future service projections and new business opportunities. Lead the compilation efforts of the annual budget and ad hoc budgets for various organizational projects. Gather data from business units to be used in the ongoing forecasting process. Identify areas of process and product weakness and conduct research as necessary to propose enhanced process change and better products. Analyze product issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop effective solutions that meet end user and client business requirements Prepare and assist in providing documentation to auditors, examiners, and management. Investigate and formulate solutions for general ledger anomalies. Proactively isolate general ledger trends and work with the various business units to document and determine potential remedies. Maintain a strong knowledge of department procedures and controls. Perform verification of compliance with department procedures and controls through a review of video surveillance or live monitoring. Develop a thorough understanding of the Departments corporate performance management (CPM) software products. Assist with additional development for existing CPM software and vetting of new potential software. Assist with identifying, documenting, developing, and rolling-out selected Bank performance metrics and scorecards. At the direction of the inquirer, build custom system reports to fulfill the needs of various business reporting. Assist with research/implementation related to mergers & acquisitions and other business lines that provide additional enterprise value. Monitor and ensure appropriate controls are maintained for Finance and Accounting. Identify and enhance the Finance & Accounting Department’s written policies and procedures. Promote effective communication and teamwork with the department staff as well as staff at all levels withing the organization. Participate in a leadership role and support capacity in the Finance & Accounting Department. Physical presence in the bank is required. The Financial Analyst position is expected to meet and/or exceed Citizens Alliance Bank’s customer service levels as well as the over-all goals of the organization. Travel for trade and industry schools, seminars, and occasionally to other offices. This position requires a valid Driver’s License This position may require installation of a Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) app on an employee’s personal mobile device. THE MFA apps are used to authenticate a user’s identity to the system for security purposes. Adhere to and comply with all applicable, federal, and state laws, regulations, and guidance, including those related to BSA/AML, as well as adhere to the Bank’s policies and procedures. Requirements:
Required: BS/BA degree in finance and/or accounting from an accredited college or university. Required: 3+ years of finance and/or accounting experience. Required: Proficient in Excel spreadsheets, including high-level analytical skills. Required: Knowledge and experience of prevailing generally accepted accounting principles.
