Overview:
Viking Bank, a locally owned independent community bank with locations in Alexandria and Ashby, is seeking a personable and dynamic individual responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Ashby location, ensuring excellent customer service, managing financial transactions, and leading a team of banking professionals. Your role will involve managing a $20,000,000 existing Business, Agriculture and Real Estate loan portfolio as well as achieving branch relation management goals, promoting bank products and services, and maintaining compliance with banking regulations.

Responsibilities:
Branch Operations Management: • Supervise daily operations of the branch, ensuring efficient workflow. • Oversee cash management and transaction processing. • Monitor branch performance metrics and implement strategies to improve. Customer Service: • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service. • Address customer concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally. • Train and coach staff on delivering exceptional customer service. Sales and Business Development: • Actively engaged in business development, to attract new and retain existing Commercial, Agriculture and Real Estate loan/deposit customers. • Meet branch goals for loans, deposits, and other financial products. • Refer customers and prospects to other lines of business (Cash Management, personal deposit accounts, personal mortgages) Credit • Manage an existing $20,000,000 Business/Ag and, Real Estate loan portfolio • Interview prospective small and midlevel Business/Ag loan requests and in house mortgage requests to make a preliminary determination as to the nature and feasibility of the credit request. • Assist in the analysis of financial and related information to determine the general creditworthiness of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan request. • All other duties included servicing a loan portfolio. Team Leadership • Recruit, train, and supervise branch staff. • Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide feedback. • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork. Compliance and Risk Management: • Ensure compliance with banking regulations, policies, and procedures. • Manage operational risks and implement controls to mitigate them. • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Financial Management: • Monitor branch profitability and manage expenses effectively. • Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts. • Implement cost-control measures to achieve branch financial goals. Community Involvement: • Active involvement in community and civic organizations.

Requirements:
• B.A. or B.S. in accounting, finance, business administration or related field. • Credit, lending, or examining experience of 3 years or more. Ag industry experience is a plus. • Working knowledge of loan documentation. • Above-average written and communication skills. • Proficiency with computer technology. • Ability to deal with multiple tasks and deadlines. • Effective time management and organizational skills. • Outstanding customer service skills.Shared Values The right candidate will share the Viking Bank core values, which are: Commitment – Dedication, care about customers, have compassion and a “can do” attitude.
